INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The victim who died in Thursday night's hit-and-run crash has been identified as 27-year-old Darius Webb.

Police are now searching for a silver 2008 Buick LaCrosse Super with significant front-end and windshield damage in connection with the case. Police say the vehicle was initially believed to be red, but has since been discovered to be silver. The car's last known license plate was a dealer plate with license number G911346.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. near East 38th Street and North Franklin Road on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Witnesses told investigators they saw Webb walking south on North Franklin Road, crossing East 38th Street against the light. That's when the suspect vehicle heading east on East 38th Street struck the Webb, and continued heading east on East 38th Street.
