Man dies after arriving at northeast Indianapolis fire station with gunshot wound

IMPD said the victim arrived at a fire station at 4120 N. Mitthoefer Road on Sunday around 4:30 p.m.

INDIANAPOLIS — One person has died after arriving at an Indianapolis fire station with a gunshot wound Sunday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 24, IMPD officers responded to a report of a person with a gunshot wound who went to Indianapolis Fire Department Station 2, near 42nd Street and North Mitthoefer Road on the city's northeast side.

Officers arrived and found a 54-year-old man who had been shot. Medics took him to a hospital in critical condition, but he died from his injuries shortly after arriving to the hospital.

IMPD has not released information on a possible suspect or motive at this time.
