Old Delphi suspect sketch is no longer person of interest

Indiana State Police say the new sketch does show the face of the person captured on video on Libby German's cell phone walking on the bridge.

DELPHI, Ind. (WTHR) — Indiana State Police are clearing up questions about a new sketch released of the suspect in the Delphi murders.

The new sketch is the person police are now searching for, and the old sketch is no longer a person of interest.

The two sketches do not depict the same person.

Indiana State Police say the new sketch does show the face of the person captured on video on Libby German's cell phone walking on the bridge.

While the new sketch shows someone with a youthful appearance, it could be someone in age from their 20s to late 30s.

State Police also want people to know the suspect shown in the new sketch might have changed their appearance by growing a beard, or growing out or cutting their hair short.

Thirteen-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old German went missing Feb. 13, 2017. Their bodies were found the next day.

Tips on the new suspect should be sent to Abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com.

Police request that tips include the following information:

  • Suspect's name
  • Date of birth or approximate age
  • Physical description including height, weight, hair color, eye color
  • Address or location including city
  • Vehicle information including year, make, model, color
  • Specific reason for the tip. Why could they be the suspect?
  • Motivation for the crime
  • Connection to Delphi, IN

Police say you don't need to have all of those pieces to send a tip, but do ask you include as many details as you can.
