Kokomo Police search for suspect in attempted murder

KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) — The Kokomo Police Department is searching for the whereabouts of a man wanted for attempted murder.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of North Apperson Way on Sept. 22 at approximately 7:17 a.m on reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they learned a 33-year-old Kokomo female was shot in the upper leg.

The victim told officers she walked out of her residence and saw a man fire multiple shots at her from an older, blue, Jeep Cherokee.

She was treated at Saint Vincent Hospital Kokomo and transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment and is currently in good condition.

The Howard County Circuit Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Harron J. Burnett, 33, one four offenses: attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, criminal recklessness, and aggravated batttery.
