INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police have arrested a 15-year-old following a shooting at an east side motel late Saturday night.

Around 10:45 p.m. on March 30, IMPD responded to the Budget 8 Inn at 6850 E. 21st Street on the city's east side on a report of a person shot.

Officers arrived and found one person awake and breathing with a gunshot wound.

Roughly twelve hours later, IMPD announced they had arrested a 15-year-old male for battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and dangerous possession of a firearm by a minor.

The incident was the second shooting at the Budget 8 Inn in three days. On March 28, IMPD responded to the motel where two people had been shot, one critically. It also marked the first of two shootings involving minors Saturday night. Less than an hour and a half later, seven youths were wounded in a shooting at a busy intersection in downtown Indianapolis
