50-year-old woman killed in shooting inside east Indianapolis home

It happened early Saturday morning in the 4300 block of Hovenweep Way, which is near 42nd Street and North German Church Road.

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened inside an east Indianapolis home early Saturday morning.

IMPD officers responded to a report of a person shot around 1 a.m. April 27 in the 4300 block of Hovenweep Way, near East 42nd Street and German Church Road.

Officers arrived and a woman who was shot inside of a home. Medics on scene pronounced her dead.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 50-year-old Shanica Mills.

There's no word on whether police have identified a suspect in the case, nor whether a motive has been determined.
