Arrest made in 2019 Broad Ripple killing

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — IMPD has made an arrest in an October murder in Broad Ripple.

Curtis Baker was arrested in Edwardsburg, Michigan about 15 miles across the border from Indiana. He's facing a homicide charge. Police received a tip he was in Edwardsburg and arrested him at a gas station without any issues. He's now being held in jail there while he awaits extradition back to Indianapolis.

The family of the victim, Al Hayes Jr., had called on the shooter to turn themselves in to police.

Hayes, a 37-year-old single father of four, was shot and killed after he reportedly stood up to a man who was pushing woman at the pub.
