A man and woman who had been shot went to Community Hospital East on their own, where they were stable with apparent non-life-threatening injuries, Cumberland police told 13News.

Officers located "evidence of gunfire in the street" and are working to piece together what led up to the shooting, police said.

On March 13, Cumberland Police announced the arrest of Gerald Lewis on charges including battery by means of deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Lewis was arrested March 4.
