30-year-old man killed in shooting on Indy's north side

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, near Ditch Road and I-465.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after one person was killed in a shooting on Indianapolis' north side early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 9300 block of Ditch Road, just south of Interstate 465, just after 1 a.m. Feb. 4. Officers located a man inside a car who had been shot. 

The man was taken in critical condition to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. 

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 30-year-old Ahmad Xavier Lee.

Police have not shared any additional information on the circumstances of the shooting, including if any suspect(s) has been identified.
