Emmy award-winning Anne Marie Tiernon co-anchors the number one rated 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts. She interviews high-profile newsmakers for WTHR Special Reports and is the Eyewitness News Healthbeat reporter. She covered the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China; the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Canada and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Her work has been recognized by the Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards; the Lower Great Lakes Emmy Awards and twice by the National Headliner Awards for Health/Science Reporting. Anne Marie won the 2008 National Media Award for Local Television from Mental Health America. She also has honors for live breaking news reporting from the Associated Press. She won 2009 Journalist of the Year Award by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.

Anne Marie grew up in Fort Wayne and has worked in the Indianapolis television market for eighteen years. Prior to WTHR, she was a primary 5/6 and 11PM anchor for WLWT-TV the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati. Before that, Tiernon worked at WISH-TV in Indianapolis and WMBD-TV, in Peoria, Illinois. Prior to her broadcasting career, Anne Marie worked in corporate accounting and divisional finance in Chicago and Irvine, California.

Anne Marie earned a master's degree in Broadcast Journalism at Medill at Northwestern University in Chicago where she traveled to Moscow, Russia to study free press in wake of Glasnost. Her undergraduate degree is in Finance, from Indiana University in Bloomington. Her class work at IU included studies at the School of Economics in Tilburg, Netherlands.

Anne Marie spends her spare time with her husband and their three active children.
