Emmy Award-winning anchor, Andrea Morehead anchors Eyewitness News weeknights at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Andrea also hosts a Saturday radio show from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on "AM 1310 The Light." The radio show "13 on 1310" is a week in review of the major news stories that broadcast on Channel 13,  offering viewers and listeners alike an opportunity to discuss the issues that affect them while offering in-depth analysis and conversation with local newsmakers. The show begins January 24th, 2009 and the first topic will be the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama

Andrea has been with Channel 13 since 1999. She's field-anchored major events, including the 2000 NBA Championships, 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, 2002 Final Four in Atlanta, Georgia and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.

An Anderson, Indiana native, Andrea knows the Central Indiana Community well and is actively involved in numerous organizations. You can count on her involvement annually at the Susan G. Komen Indianapolis Race for the Cure, The Mayor's Diversity Awards Program, Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration and Circle City Classic, George Rawls Public Health Awards, United Negro College Fund Scholarship Program, Indiana Humanities Council Leadership Summit, and 5K Run/Walk for Sickle Cell.

Andrea sits on the boards of the Indianapolis Press Club and IUPUI University Library. She's also a member of the Indianapolis Association of Black Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists. She also serves on the board of Noble of Indiana, helping people with disabilities.

Andrea came to WTHR from WOOD TV-8 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she anchored the 6 and 11 weekend evening newscasts. Prior to her stint at WOOD, Andrea served as a reporter, assistant producer, and assignment editor for WXIN in Indianapolis. Andrea began her television career as a Production Intern at Koppel Communications in Washington DC. While at Koppel, Andrea researched topics and aided producers in developing "The Koppel Report" for Capital Cities/ABC. In 1995, Andrea switched gears and worked as a Management Council Law Clerk for the National Football League in New York. Between 1992 and 1993, Andrea was a reporter/anchor for the weekday evening newscast with WGMC TV in Worchester, Massachusetts. In 1991, she earned her B.A. in Communications/Journalism, graduating summa cum laude from Howard University. Andrea earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University in 1996.

Andrea is married to Archibald Allen, IV. They have a son, Ean James.
