INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A popular downtown restaurant is now closed.
A statement released on behalf of the owner said Palomino will close by the end of the month.
The statement read in part: "We have felt so honored to host the celebrations of so many throughout Indianapolis and to be a part of the community. We thank our guests for their support."
A call to the restaurant Thursday afternoon played a recorded message stating that the restaurant was now closed for good calling it a "difficult decision."
The recording said any gift cards will be honored at 35 other restaurant locations around the country. You can find a list of those locations here, though none are in Indiana.
Employees of Palomino told Eyewitness News the restaurant was in a lease dispute.
One of the employees said about 50 people will be without jobs, but will receive a severance package.
