Keep Indianapolis Beautiful kicks off community projects with call for volunteers

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Keep Indianapolis Beautiful needs help this fall.

The organization is looking for volunteers to help plant trees, pick up trash and get involved in other projects to make the city look good.

The group is getting pretty creative and silly with this latest call to action.

To emphasize how important volunteers are to Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, the commercial replaces its volunteers with mannequins — and unsurprisingly nothing gets done.

The organization says there are three easy ways volunteers can help to keep the city pretty.

1. Plant a tree. Spend Saturday morning planting trees with friends and family in a neighborhood or
park.

2. Adopt your block. Sign up to take care of your block year-round, and you can brandish your very own
KIB litter grabber. As a block captain, you’re eligible for free cleanup supplies, native flowers, and trees.

3. Coordinate a community cleanup. Click the link and complete the request form to receive resources and tools. Contact Allie Kast (317-264-7555) for more information.
