FINDLAY, Ohio (WTHR) - Eleven Indiana Marsh stores are getting a new name.

Generative Growth II announced Tuesday the stores that survived the supermarket chain's bankruptcy will now be called Needler's Fresh Market. The Ohio-based company purchased a total of 15 Marsh stores for $8 million at an auction in June.

While customers will begin to see the Needler's brand in their ads September 15, it could be the end of October before stores are completely outfitted with the new name.

"Customers can expect a clean, fresh look with our marketing and communication," said Generative Growth Vice President of Marketing Julie Anderson.

The 11 Indiana stores that will undergo rebranding include two in Indianapolis, plus stores in Columbus, Elwood, Greensburg, Hartford City, Marion, New Palestine, Pendleton, Richmond and Tipton. Three stores in western Ohio will take on the Needler's Fresh Market name.

"Needler's Fresh Market truly represents who we are as a family and as an operator," said Michael Needler Jr., CEO of Fresh Encounter, Inc., which manages Generative Growth. "My sister, Julie, and I have grown up in the grocery business and look forward to bringing our genuine family values to the former Marsh stores. I know customers will begin to experience the pride we feel serving our friends and neighbors every day."

Generative Growth currently owns 25 supermarkets in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Fresh Encounter, Inc. manages 59 retail locations. It was founded in 1995 by Michael S. Needler and the late Susan Cheek Needler, the company said in a release.
