Boogie Burger announces closing

Local burger joint Boogie Burger has closed its doors.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Popular local burger restaurant Boogie Burger announced its closing on Twitter today.

The Broad Ripple burger joint sent out a series of tweets to share the news.

The thread read:

"We've been in this industry approaching 20 years now, the last 10 with boogie burger which has been the most visible (and the most fun). time passes very quickly and the decision was made that this year would be our last. It's time for us to move on to other projects/interests and teh kitchen is now closed. Words can't express our gratitude. it's been our pleasure to serve you and your friends& family. The love was real and the love remains. We hope we got it right for you more than we got it wrong on your visits. your compliments and critiques were welcomed equally. We want to thank our crew. Who we believe to be some of the best in town. All the best to you beautiful people."

The restaurant then went on to thank employees and those who ran the restaurant.

Thanks to our fellow operators we've met over the years for your inspiration, shop talk and encouragement. All the best to you. Cheers. We are quite proud of our restaurant and pleased it achieved most of its goals. The primary simply to be a neighborhood burger & malt shop."

It appears the restaurant will shut down immediately. No other word on exactly why or what comes next for the owners.
