BARcelona Tapas restaurant closes for good in downtown Indianapolis

The doors on an Indianapolis Spanish restaurant closed for the final time Sunday.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The doors on an Indianapolis Spanish restaurant closed for the final time Sunday.

BARcelona Tapas' owner Frank Schmitz cited "a variety factors" in the decision to close the restaurant after 10 years of business downtown.

"It has been my honor to share BARcelona Tapas Restaurant with the people of Indianapolis over the past 10 years. I want to thank each and every one of our loyal patrons for all they've done for us, and for not only being our guests but becoming our friends and family. It also has been an honor and privilege to work with our staff, and I am grateful for their loyalty and dedication," Schmitz said in a release announcing the closure.

The restaurant's original location, in the St. Louis suburb of Clayton, remains open. Customers with questions about upcoming reservations or unused gift cards should contact the main office in St. Louis at 314-802-7430.
