Gillian Anderson, Billie Piper discuss Netflix film about Prince Andrew's infamous BBC interview

"Scoop" is now streaming on Netflix.

INDIANAPOLIS — One hour of TV can change everything.

In "Scoop," the women of "Newsnight" on the BBC try to secure an interview with Prince Andrew to discuss his relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, whose death was ruled a suicide at a New York detention facility.

"It's their journey, sort of ping pong in between two of our huge British institutions – Buckingham Palace and the BBC – how challenging that was, how tenacious they had to to be and how they ultimately had to work together to ultimately clinch the deal," said Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie," "Penny Dreadful"), who plays producer Sam McAlister.

Two-time Emmy winner Gillian Anderson ("The Crown," "The X-Files") portrays journalist Emily Maitlis, who sat down with the prince in November 2019.

"I feel like the way that the director, Philip Martin, captured it and the story leading up to it and the thriller aspect of the story worked incredibly well," Anderson said.

The 102-minute film all leads up to the infamous interview between Anderson's character and the Duke of York, played by Rufus Sewell ("The Man in the High Castle," "The Diplomat").

"I think everybody who was there in the room reacting was having almost the same reaction that Rufus and I were because that was the first time that we were doing it," Anderson said. "When we sat down to film, it was the first time, and we did it all the way through from beginning to end. It very much felt like it was a one-act play."

"Scoop" is now streaming on Netflix.
