John Doran joined the 13News team in April 2021 as a reporter on 13Sunrise.
Before that, he worked at WLUK-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he covered both news and sports. John covered the Green Bay Packers for five seasons and went to two NFC Championship games. Before that, he spent a year in a half working in news and sports at KXMC-TV in Minot, North Dakota.
John is a Chicagoland native and went to school at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin where he participated on the school's varsity football and baseball teams. He is a die-hard Chicago sports fan, but can't wait to check out Bankers Life Fieldhouse and Lucas Oil Stadium in the fall.
When he's not working, you can find John on a golf course, softball diamond or basketball court.
