(WTHR) — We're looking at some patchy fog this morning in parts of Central Indiana. As we move deeper into the day some showers may develop in the afternoon.

Temperatures struggle to go from near 30° in the morning to lower 40s in the afternoon, and there could be some scattered showers around if you are headed out to 'Christmas At The Zoo' tonight at the Indianapolis Zoo!

Rain will increase over central Indiana later today and into Friday, which will be a rather wet day with breezy conditions and highs in the 40s. Wind-whipped rain lingers Friday night into the first-half of Saturday.

Rainy conditions begin this weekend at the center of the system spins across Kentucky. Though we're still expecting rain to diminish Saturday afternoon, areas south of I-70 may remain in showers for much of Saturday.

The entire state will return to tranquil conditions by Sunday. Highs that day and into the middle of next week will mostly be 5° to 10° above average.

Don't think the roof will be open, but the day should be great for Game Day activities as the Colts host the Dallas Cowboys at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday.

  • ON THIS DAY IN CENTRAL INDIANA WEATHER HISTORY:

2000: An ice storm strikes south central Indiana. Up to a half inch of ice falls on top of snow, and the ice downs power lines.
