Before coming to Indianapolis, Scott worked for ABC 4 / CW30 in Salt Lake City, Utah as the Web Channel Director. Earlier in his career, Scott worked in South Bend, Indiana for NBC affiliate WNDU. Scott ran the web department for the station. Before that, he worked in the newsroom doing a variety of behind-the-scenes jobs. While at WNDU, Scott contributed to the award winning Notre Dame football pre-game show “Countdown to Kickoff” and the Notre Dame coach’s show “Inside Notre Dame Football.” Scott was also a special projects producer, photographer, and editor working on a number of special reports.

During his career, Scott has been honored with a number of awards, including contributing to the team that won a 2016 George Foster Peabody Award and a 2017 duPont-Columbia Award. Scott and his digital team have also won the Indiana Associated Press award for Best Website in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018, the IBA Spectrum Award for Best Website in 2014 and 2015, the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists Best in Indiana award for website in 2018, and RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Awards for Best Website (2008) and Multimedia (2020.) He also received an Emmy Award in 2019 for Technical Achievement for managing an innovative presentation for broadcast television election results using custom web-based applications.

Scott is a graduate of Ball State University where he received a B.S. in Telecommunication with an emphasis in Television Production. While at BSU, Scott worked on a number of programs at the student television station and at WIPB, the on-campus PBS affiliate. Scott was voted “Member of the Year” twice by his peers and won a number of awards, including the national Mark of Excellence from the Society of Professional Journalists.

In his spare time Scott enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially with his wife Shalah and their Shih Tzu, Bella. Scott is a huge sports fan and loves watching college and professional football and basketball.
