David MacAnally joined Channel 13 Eyewitness News in September, 1986, and has continued to establish himself as one of the top television reporters in the city. In 1995, David received a first place Associated Press Award for spot news, and in 1991, he received two Sigma Delta Chi Awards, one for a documentary and one for spot news. The documentary, titled "The Soldiers of Desert Shield", chronicled the journey of Indiana National Guard Reserve units to the war-torn Middle East. The same year, David was also awarded an Associated Press Award for best live breaking coverage.

Before coming to WTHR, David was a general assignment reporter at WLUK-TV, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and a reporter/anchor at Nebraska Television Network (NTV). While at NTV, David received an Associated Press Award for 'Best Feature'. Since joining WTHR, David has been nominated for the Emmy in 1999 and 2000 as well as awarded the 1993-94 'Best Feature' from the Society of Professional Journalists, and the 2000 Associated Press Award for 'Best General News'.

Originally from Runnemede, New Jersey, David is a graduate of Glassboro State College, New Jersey, and holds a B.A. in journalism and political science. David is married to Mindy and has two daughters, Emma and Nora.
