Ben Hill

Sunrise Anchor

Emmy-nominated Ben Hill is the co-Anchor of “Sunrise,” airing live on WTHR Monday-Friday from 4-7 a.m. He joined the “13 Eyewitness News” team from South Carolina where he served as Anchor of “The Morning News” on FOX Carolina. While in the Carolinas, Ben extensively covered the presidential primary election – interviewing Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and several other primary contenders. He was also selected to serve as a panelist for the “Palladian View” – a forum that hosted many of the republican presidential candidates, where he questioned their policy positions. Also, Ben covered the tragic shooting of nine parishioners at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, where he anchored live continuous coverage as the manhunt for the suspect ensued.

Prior to FOX Carolina, Ben was chosen to launch an all-new newscast in Texas: “FOX 51 Today.” In that position as Anchor, Ben interviewed local newsmakers and delivered breaking news… anchoring live coverage of the manhunt for the suspected Boston Marathon bombers. Ben began his broadcasting career as Weekend Anchor/Reporter at NBC affiliate KETK in Tyler, TX where he reported live, breaking coverage of President Obama’s announcement on the death of Osama bin Laden. Ben also served as Anchor for NBC 33 in Baton Rouge, LA.

While earning his B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from Western Kentucky University, and Anchoring and Reporting for NewsChannel 12, Ben was selected to serve internships with “NBC Nightly News” and “Good Morning America” in New York City. During his time with "Nightly," he was credited for his work on several stories -- including the coverage of the contentious Iranian Presidential election and the attempted terrorist bombing of "Flight 253" on Christmas Day. Ben was credited as co-Producer and Associate Producer for many pieces that made air at “Nightly.”
Ben is an avid golfer and serves on the board of the Indiana Golf Foundation, which allows hundreds of Indiana youth an opportunity to experience all the benefits that come from playing the game of golf. Ben and his wife, Holly, attend Traders Point Church and have a dog named Tyler. Ben's originally from Owensboro, KY, but is thrilled to be an adopted Hoosier. He is always looking to talk college basketball.
