Meet The Team

For the latest in breaking news, weather and sports, Central Indiana residents have learned to rely on WTHR Channel 13, the NBC affiliate in Indianapolis, for the best local coverage. Founded locally in 1957, WTHR is part of the Dispatch Broadcast Group, based in Columbus, Ohio. The Dispatch Broadcast Group includes WBNS-TV, WBNS AM/FM and WTHR-TV.

WTHR's broadcast facility, located at 1000 North Meridian Street, officially opened in May of 1982. It was one of the first buildings to become part of Mayor William H. Hudnut's revitalized North Meridian Street corridor. The station houses two large broadcast studios in which an extensive amount of local programming is produced, from six hours of live newscasts each day to special programs like "SportsJam."

WTHR's commitment to bring the best local news coverage is clearly visible everyday. Channel 13 Eyewitness News is Indiana's News Leader. The team's bold investigative reporting offers further evidence of its commitment to provide the best local coverage possible for its viewers. John Stehr, Andrea Morehead, Anne Marie Tiernon and Scott Swan form the co-anchor team for Eyewitness News. They are joined by meteorologist Angela Buchman and sports director Dave Calabro.

Eyewitness News is among the most-honored stations in the country. Its wide range of work, from investigative stories to feature stories to newscasts, is recognized with some of the most prestigious and coveted awards in broadcast journalism. Among them: a national Emmy award, a national Edward R. Murrow award, a Peabody award, a Dupont award and IRE award for groundbreaking investigative reporting, a National Headliners award, and a Sigma Delta Chi award from the Society of Professional Journalists. WTHR has also received the “Overall Excellence” award by the Radio/Television News Directors Association, beating out large market stations like Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland. In addition to these national awards, Eyewitness News has received hundreds of regional Emmys, more than any other station in the competition.
