A young mother from California used a heartwarming way to tell her parents she'd been accepted to medical school.

According to NBC Bay Area, Limayre Mendoza caught the moment on video when her six-year-old daughter Gabby handed her grandparents a doll dressed as a doctor.

They jumped for joy at the news.

"I overcame statistics when I graduated from college after having a baby at 17," Mendoza posted on Twitter. "Now my 6-year-old got to tell her abuelitos that mom is moving to Tulsa to become a doctor."

The young mother started college when her daughter was one month old.
