INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A boy was injured when he was struck by a foul ball that went into the right field stands during Saturday night's game between the Indianapolis Indians and Gwinnett Stripers at Victory Field.

According to a release from the Indians on Tuesday, the boy was treated at a hospital and released the next day. Since then he has been recuperating at home. The release said the family thanked the community for its concern and ask for continued privacy.

When the fan was hit, EMTs at the stadium began treatment before the boy was taken to the hospital.

The Indians upgraded safety netting at Victory Field in 2017.
