Worker falls to his death at Texas amusement park

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (WTHR) — A Texas construction worker died after falling from a structure at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown in Harris County, Texas Friday afternoon.

Authorities said it happened just after 3 p.m.

The amusement park released a statement about the incident:

"We are deeply saddened by the death of an employee of Trevino Industries, who fell while doing onsite work. The park’s medical staff responded immediately and notified Cypress Creek EMS who responded along with the Spring Fire Department. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time."

The water park is scheduled to open for the 2019 season May 4.
