Wintry Start To A Chilly Monday

A sloppy Sunday evening in Central Indiana with mixed showers continuing and temperatures holding steady in the mid-30s.

We're expecting a transition to mainly frozen precipitation overnight of snow/graupel showers along with flurries at times. Wind remains brisk but shifts to the northwest in the wake of departing low pressure. That flow puts lake effect snow showers/flurries in play heading into Monday morning... especially for areas north-northeast of Indy.

Temperatures slowly drop to near/below freezing which means some slick spots are possible Monday morning. Wind chills drop into the 20s for the bus stop and morning commute. We'll keep the possibility of flurries/snow showers in play into midday Monday and low clouds linger all day long.

Overcast keeps temperatures steady in the lower to mid-30s Monday. The gray sky lingers into Tuesday before brightening days in the middle of the week. Wednesday and Thursday feature better sun and highs in the 40s... likely the best days of the week.

Temperatures next Sunday make a run at 50° and the potential of above average temperatures for the middle of the month.
