Wintry Mix and Single Digit Wind Chills - Live Doppler 13 Weather Blog

Angela Buchman

There is a taste of winter in our forecast over the next couple of days, with a wintry mix, snow showers and single digit wind chills possible.

A developing weather system will bring a wintry mix of rain and snow showers to central Indiana early Friday morning. Right now pavement temperatures and surface temperatures will be just warm enough that roads will be mainly wet. If there is a steadier burst of snow, a few roads might be briefly slushy. Here is the timeline with FutureTrak13.

Friday afternoon will be chilly and breezy with snow showers developing. These snow showers might be steady enough for a quick coating on the grass or a rooftop to two. The chance for a few snow showers will linger into Friday evening. The bigger story will be the chill. Specifically the wind chill. Wind chills will drop into the upper teens by late Friday evening and into the range of 7 to 12 degrees by Saturday morning. Yes it will feel like the single digits in a few places early Saturday.

At least there is is some sunshine in the forecast for Saturday afternoon. It will be cold, with afternoon temperatures only in the 30s. It won't be quite as cold on Sunday. Expect a mix of clouds and sun and afternoon temperatures in the lower 40s.

Most of Monday will be dry and in the lower 40s. There is another weather system that will arrive later Monday. This will bring the chance for some mixed rain and snow showers late in the day. Some snow showers are possible on Tuesday. Early next week looks cold too, with afternoon temperatures in the 30s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
