White Sox and Yankees to play at the 'Field of Dreams'

DYERSVILLE, Iowa (WTHR) — Could it be more fitting that the Chicago White Sox are one of the first two teams to play at the "Field of Dreams?"

The White Sox and New York Yankees will play a game at the iconic baseball field at the Dyersville farm on Aug. 13, 2020.

MLB announced the news on Twitter, saying, "Is this heaven? See you in Iowa on 8.13.20."

Both teams have fun with their announcements on Twitter with faux movie posters.

A temporary 8,000-seat ballpark will be constructed where the film was shot.

"Field of Dreams" was released in 1989 and starred Kevin Costner as an Iowa farmer who hears a mysterious voice telling him, "If you build it, he will come," inspiring him to build a baseball diamond on his farm.
