White River State Park is getting some rockin' upgrades

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Lawn at White River State Park is about to get a permanent stage.

It's all part of a $27 million plan to upgrade the downtown concert venue.

The project will also add covered, permanent seating, a VIP lounge and more restrooms.

Work on the stage is set to begin next month and wrap up in the spring ahead of next year's concert season.

The seating will come in phase two, which will start work in September of 2019 and finish in May of 2020.
