TONIGHT AT 5:30: What's Cooking at LA Café

WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WTHR) - Tonight, "What's Cooking" travels north to the small, but booming community of Whitestown.

LA Café first opened its doors on Main Street downtown in 2002. It's got all the great comfort foods like breaded tenderloin, hamburgers and homemade mac n cheese, but also steaks and seafood. They also have a killer shrimp cocktail that rivals that of a very well known Indy steak place.

With its unique menu items and pretty cozy feel, LA Café has quickly become a local favorite, but it's also considered destination dining.

"A lot of people don't know where it is and on the weekends, it's a destination point for a lot of people. They feel like it's out in the middle of nowhere and it's kind of a place to go," said one customer.

"All of our dishes are made to order, from the sauces to the desserts. All of our salad dressings are made in house," said owner Jessica Averitt.
