What's Cooking: Diavola

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - If you are looking for a new place to dine out with family this weekend, and you like pizza, we've got just the place.

Today's What's Cooking is all about Diavola.

Diavola opened about a year and a half ago on 54th Street close to the Monon. Pizza is their thing, but there are plenty of other items on the menu that their customers rave about.

"My favorite thing is the Brussels sprout appetizer, its amazing," said one diner.

Other reviews during our visit?

"They have a great wine list great pizza and great appetizers. You can close your eyes and point to an item and it's going to be wonderful. There is just not a bad thing."

And as you might expect, it starts with the dough.

"We do the dough different from anybody else," said chef and owner Mohey Osman. "We keep it for three days so it's full of flavor, gets airy inside."

Their customers agree.

"Thin crust better than Italy, he was trained there, that's why he knows what he is doing."

"You can see him flipping the dough and putting all your stuff on your pizza, not something you see every day."

"I work the pizza I work the dough, when you come in the door you will see me, and difference, I make everything with love and I love what I do," said Osman.

And one customer summed it up.

"We love Diavola and we come as often as we can."
