WESTFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) — Many of us grew up playing pick-up football in the backyard with our siblings or neighbors.

But imagine having a professional football team practicing in your backyard.

That's the reality for 9-year-old Cael O'Dougherty.

Cael lives on a Westfield farm that sits just beyond the end zone of the Colts practice field at Grand Park.

"It's the unofficial backyard of the Indianapolis Colts," Cael said.

During training camp when the Colts are on the field working, you can almost always find Cael watching and cheering on his flatbed wagon.

"Pretty much every single day, unless they're inside," Cael said. "Having them in my backyard is probably the best opportunity to meet the Colts I've ever had."

He's met his share of players and he's chatted with a few from across the fence, including his favorite player Andrew Luck.

Cael has high expectations for the Colts this season, projecting a trip to the Super Bowl. If they can't get there, he's hopes they'll at least make the playoffs.
