Wednesday morning fire damages north side restaurant

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A north side restaurant was damaged in an early Wednesday morning fire.

IFD responded to multiple calls around 12:48 a.m. from people reporting smoke and flames coming from Mississippi Bell Restaurant at 2170 East 54th Street.

A fire department spokesperson said the fire was contained to the back of the restaurant.

No other businesses in the strip mall were damaged.

A fire investigator is trying to determine the cause of the blaze.

No one was injured.
