Another Storm to Track as 2021 Begins

It will be a dry New Year's Eve but there is the threat for ice on the first day of 2021.

INDIANAPOLIS — Temperatures will fall into the lower and middle 20s by early Thursday morning, so a few slick spots will be possible.  The rest of New Year's Eve day will be mainly cloudy, but dry and cold.  Afternoon temperatures are forecast in the middle 30s.

This will be cold enough for the threat for freezing rain early Friday, as the next storm system arrives.  If you have to be out early on Friday, stay weather aware and be prepared for some icy conditions.  Here is the ice accumulation potential.  We are tracking this closely and we will keep you updated.

That freezing rain will change to rain Friday afternoon.  Friday afternoon will be windy too, with highs in the 40s.
