INDIANAPOLIS — Here we go again. Not a lot of snow is expected Monday, but timing and temperature will make any snow go a long way in slowing down the morning commute.
Plan on slick and slow roadways from along, and especially north of I-70. This clipper system will take a similar path to the one Sunday morning.
It will produce similar snowfall with the most probable area of 1" to occur near/north of a line from Lafayette to Muncie, with a dusting to under one inch around the Indy metro area.
With that said, please know that even a dusting of snow will make the roads slick with temperatures in the teens to lower 20s.
Snowfall eases around midday but we expect a new surge of rain/snow to develop in the afternoon. At this time, it appears temperatures "warming" into the mid-30s will keep the roads mainly wet during the afternoon/evening commute.
But a refreeze seems likely Monday night as temperatures drop into the teens.
Plan on bitter wind chills near zero Tuesday and -15° to -10° Wednesday morning in what may become our coldest morning of winter thus far.
