INDIANAPOLIS — Sunday was only the fourth day on record with a high of 79°+ after October in central Indiana. The last such occurrence was Nov. 1, 2016.
This truly rare air was over 20° above average and easily set a new daily record high for this date, eclipsing the 76° high from 1999.
We're forecasting record warmth again on Monday with highs in the upper 70s. The daily record high is 76° from 1999, and we've tracking a high of 78°.
Either way, it's going to feel more like September than November and another day in the 70s dialed-up for Tuesday.
But Tuesday is a transitional day with an approaching cold front bringing an increase in rain and thunderstorms, some possibly severe Tuesday night.
More importantly, it brings more typical November conditions with highs in the 50s beginning Wednesday.
