INDIANAPOLIS — A Wind Advisory will be in effect for all of Indiana and a good portion of the lower Midwest overnight tonight through the day Sunday. A strong pressure gradient on the backside of a weather system brings extreme wind with gusts in excess of 50 mph at times Sunday.
The wind will begin to pick-up overnight with 40-50 mph wind gusts along a cold front. While the rain exits early Sunday and the sky clears, the gusts stay strong all through the afternoon.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Timing: 1 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sunday
- Threat: Wind gusts from 40-50 mph
- Impact: Isolated power outages, downed trees, limbs and branches. Secure loose yard items and garbage cans before bed tonight.
