INDIANAPOLIS — Tropical Storm Fiona is moving toward the northern Leeward Islands with heavy rain and strong winds. Winds are currently at 60 mph with Fiona.
Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts, Anguilla and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands are in the path on Friday and Saturday.
Puerto Rico is in the path on Sunday and the Dominican Republic is in the path on Sunday based on the latest path.
This will be a slow-moving tropical system. We will still be tracking Fiona early next week. The slow movement makes the track very difficult to predict more than a few days in advance.
Right now, winds are expected to stay just below hurricane strength. Fiona would become a hurricane if winds reach 74 mph. We will continue to keep you updated.
