Oct. 8 forecast

INDIANAPOLIS — It has been a warm Wednesday with highs in the lower 80s. These numbers are 10 to 15 degrees warmer than average for early October. The average high is 69 degrees.

It will stay warm for October through the weekend. A weak weather system is moving through now. We won't get any rain from this system but there will be a wind shift and a drop in temperature. You can see that slightly cooler change to our north this afternoon.

It will still be sunny and mild on Thursday and just a bit cooler with highs in the lower and middle 70s.

There will be a few more clouds on Friday and it will be warm again with highs near 80.

If you are making weekend plans, Saturday will be the drier and warmer of the two days.  We are forecasting a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday, with highs in the upper 70s.

Hurricane Delta will make landfall on Friday in Louisiana. What's left of Delta will move our way this weekend. The southern part of the state will have the chance for a few showers on Saturday. All of central Indiana will  have a chance for some rain on Sunday.

We will keep you updated.
