INDIANAPOLIS — It's a windy and colder start to the weekend as a cold front cuts through the state. The wind will gradually ease Saturday afternoon but temperatures will only recover into the mid 20s. That's about 15 degrees below average for this time of year. The sky will clear with lots of sunshine expected.
We'll see a shift in wind direction from the south overnight, which will eventually serve as a warming mechanism for Sunday. Low temperatures will still be in the upper teens and low 20s early Sunday before warming up to near 50 in the afternoon under a sunny sky.
The warming trend continues through early next week with highs in the upper 50s on Monday.
Clouds increase with rain moving in later Monday.
Rain remains likely through the day on Tuesday. Temperatures will be rather mild early in the day with highs still near 60 before a cold front arrives.
Rain exits as temperatures fall back into the mid 30s for highs Wednesday and stay in the low to mid 30s for the remainder of the week. We're watching another potentially impactful weather system developing Thursday and potentially bringing a combination of snow and freezing rain through early Friday.
