INDIANAPOLIS — A cold front will track through the state this evening and prompt a line of strong to severe storms. Northern Indiana is under a level 2 of 5 from the Storm Prediction Center meaning there is a risk of scattered severe storms with damaging wind gusts and large hail as the primary threats.
The line will develop in northwestern parts of the state around 7 p.m.
The boundary will push south into the Indy metro between 9-10 p.m. The line will begin to weaken as the atmospheric parameters that would contribute to severe weather lessen after sunset.
The severe threat comes to an end overnight with a few lingering showers through the morning rush hour Wednesday.
