Live Doppler 13 Weather Blog: A seasonal start to October

Wind gusts up to 30 mph are possible today. Otherwise, central Indiana will experience plenty of sunshine and highs in the low 70s.

INDIANAPOLIS — As the remnants of what was once Hurricane Ian continue to bring flooding rain chances and strong winds to the east coast, we'll be sitting on the back side of this storm system and will steer clear of any rain associated with that system.

We'll get in on some of the gusty winds, though, with northeasterly wind gusts up to 25-30 mph at times. Otherwise, we've got plenty of sunshine and seasonal temperatures topping out in the low 70s.

The summer concert season wraps up at Ruoff Music Center this evening as Five Finger Death Punch takes the stage at 6:30 and temps begin to fall into the 60s.

It will stay clear and cool overnight with lows near 50 in the metro area and into the upper 40s in outlying locations.

We've got another sunny and quiet day for Sunday as the Colts take on the Titans. It'll be cool down at Touchdown Town with temperatures warming through the 50s and warming into the low 70s during the game.

A dome of high pressure takes control of our weather, keeping a quiet pattern around through early next week. Expect plenty of sunshine and seasonal highs in the upper 60s/low 70s through mid-week.

We're watching long-range models for a potential cold front coming in late Thursday bringing rain chances as well as a big cool down, with highs potentially only in the 50s by next Friday.
