INDIANAPOLIS — Saturday will be a tale of two seasons as a major shift in temperatures is headed our way. We're starting off cold, but as the wind shifts to the southwest and begins to gust in excess of 35 mph, warmer air will get pumped into central Indiana. Temperatures recover to the low-to-mid 40s this afternoon.

If you're headed to Bloomington for the big IU vs. Purdue basketball game, expect sunshine going into Assembly Hall with cloudy skies and temperatures dropping into the upper 30s later.

Clouds will begin to increase this evening, which will help to hold the more mild temperatures close to the surface. Temperatures hold steady in the mid-30s overnight. While skies remain mostly to partly cloudy on Sunday, a strong southwest wind will continue to keep temperatures well above average. Look for highs in the upper 40s to near 50.

The unseasonably mild air continues through next week with highs in the upper 40s to near 50 again Monday, then into the mid-50s Tuesday. A few rain showers will be possible Tuesday afternoon as a cold front arrives.

This front will then stall out across the state, keeping temperatures mild but keeping rain chances around.
The best chance of widespread rain arrives during the second half of the day Wednesday into Thursday morning.
