INDIANAPOLIS — We finally get back above freezing this weekend with highs ranging from the mid-30s north to the low 40s south on Sunday. Most of the area will be just warm enough that our main precipitation type will be rain when our next weather system arrives after 7 p.m. A brief wintry mix will be possible in our far northern counties.
Rain looks to be likely through the overnight with a wintry mix possible north.
The problem is the potential of the rain freezing on contact as surface temperatures drop to near freezing early Monday morning. Be prepared for a slippery Monday morning commute.
Temperatures hold steady in the mid-30s Monday afternoon under a mainly cloudy sky. Temperatures will be more mild for the remainder of the week with highs near 50 on Wednesday. This will be the warmest day in Indy since Dec. 27, 2020.
