Live Doppler 13 Weather Blog: Heavy rain and severe storms possible Sunday

A large storm system will bring showers and storms, some heavy, with the potential of severe storms by early evening.

INDIANAPOLIS —

Rain will move in overnight, starting in west central Indiana, along a warm front.

The warm front will spread rain over the rest of central Indiana through the morning. Temperatures will only fall into the upper 40s.

There will be some dry hours on Sunday but more widespread rain and thunderstorms will be around by mid to late afternoon.

As the winds shift out of the southeast, temperatures will climb into the upper 60s.

More showers and thunderstorms will be around Sunday late afternoon and evening.

A few storms could be strong to severe, mainly in west central Indiana.

While damaging winds will be the main threat, large hail and isolated tornadoes will be possible. The severe threat will diminish after sunset, thanks to the loss of daytime heating. Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s overnight.
