INDIANAPOLIS — Drier air is returning to central Indiana after a couple of very wet days.
Indianapolis received just under 2" total with this past storm system. There are many local rivers and creeks flooding their banks, and a Flood Warning remains in effect for the Big Blue River, Driftwood River, Young River, East Fork White River, White River, Wabash River, Eel River, Flatrock River and the White River over the next week until levels drop.
Remember to always turn around and find an alternate route should you come to a flooded roadway.
We're starting the day mostly cloudy, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Temperatures top out in the upper 70s, which will be just warm enough to trigger a stray pop-up storm this evening, mainly after 5 p.m. and for areas east.
The sky will clear overnight with cooler air returning. Lows drop to the low 60s.
We've got an excellent day shaping up for Sunday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s.
A quiet stretch of weather takes us into next week with mostly sunny skies Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be in the mid-80s. The next best chance of rain isn't until next Friday.
