An Arctic front has ushered in cold air but a warmup arrives for the weekend.

INDIANAPOLIS — It’s been a bitter cold start this morning across central Indiana. Temperatures have fallen into the low teens. Winds have also been breezy, making the air feel like it’s below zero. 

Friday will be a sunny and cold February day. The wind will turn out of the north with sustained speeds ranging between 5 to 15 mph.

The wind chill values will remain in the single digits and teens.

Afternoon highs will only rebound into the upper teens to near 20°.

Friday night will be mostly clear and cold with temperatures falling into the mid-teens. 

The winds will turn out of the south on Saturday and be breezy. The southerly wind will allow temperatures to climb back into the low 40s.

Sunday will be even warmer with highs in the upper 40s to near 50°.
