INDIANAPOLIS — A cold front will push in later this evening but a few widely scattered showers or storms will be possible well ahead of the front this afternoon.
As the front approaches this evening, a line of showers and thunderstorms is expected to form. This line will start in northwest central Indiana after 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.
The storms will move off to the southeast, arriving in the metro area after 9 p.m.
A few storms could be strong to severe. Damaging straight line winds will be the main threat but isolated large hail will be possible too.
The better chance of the stronger to severe storms will be in north west central Indiana. Storms will weaken after sunset but a few strong to severe storms will still be possible. Any lingering storms will move out early Wednesday morning.
