PADRE ISLAND, Texas — Hurricane Hanna made landfall this evening just after 6 p.m. EDT.

Hanna made landfall over Padre Island, Texas. You can see the eye of the hurricane over Padre Island. Winds in excess of 90 mph are taking place.

Rapid weakening will continue as Hanna moves inland.

Heavy rain in excess of 6” to 12” will fall as the storm moves off to the west south Texas and Mexico.
